About Water :
Water is one of the most widely distributed, most abundant & mote useful compound in nature.
It covers about three-quarters of the earths crust.
About three-forth of the body weight is due to presence of water.
Water is not only essential for survival for but also occupies a unique position in industries.
Its important use in steam generation as an engineering material.
Water is also used as a unique coolant in industries such as Power Plant, Chemicals, Tyre &
tube manufacturing, Automobiles, Pharmaceutical, Steel, Food processing, Textiles, Ice, Fire-fighting etc.
Nature of water is very complex.
Water is one of the world’s best solvents & refers to use as the “Universal Solvent”.
Hardness of water is due to presence of multivalent ions mainly due to Ca++ & Mg++ ions.
The precipitation of these ions causes formation of scale in industries.
Disadvantage of scale formation :
Scale have a low thermal conductivity due to its insulating property.

Principle of Scale-Bane :
The working principle of scale-bane is very simple & tested. It works on voltaic principle,
chemical characteristic of water & fluid dynamics. Ca++ & Mg++ ion precipitate at some higher
pH about9. normally pH of water in the range 7 to 8 Scale Bane increases the pH value of
water before it reaches high temperature zone & precipitates out hardness causing salts as
water flows through scale-bane. The result is scale free.

Graph (I) shows the rise in temperature of water from
TA to TB The solubility of these salt reduces from SA
to SB, thus at high temperature Ca++ & Mg++ ions
precipitates out & form scale. Scale – Bane precipitates
these ions Ca++ & Mg++ ion before the water comes in
contact with high temperature equipment.

The Solubility of these salt reduces from SA To SB, Thus at high pH Ca++ ions precipitates out. Scale-Bane enhances the pH & precipitates Ca++ & Mg++ ion before the water comes in contact with high temperature equipment. The water flowing through the Scale-Bane carries it away.
